Ayia Napa
Originally this was a small fishing harbour, but today this is a thriving and exciting tourist center. In keeping up with its origins, the large fishing harbour has been recently renovated to make it aesthetic and a delight to meander around on the promenade, watching the tide go out or watching the fishing boats come in with their catch. There are many wonderful and varied restaurants and fish tavernas to cater for even the fussiest of pallets; all this and a thriving and unsurpassable nightlife.
In true testament to living in modern 21st century alongside centuries past, the center square has an all-admiring 1500 AD Venetian monastery, where people gather in the outer courtyard to celebrate local and cultural events.
Ayia Napa also boasts some wonderful beaches including the well-known Nissi Beach with is superb golden sand, where you can experience an abundant array of water sports from jet skiing to scuba diving. If you don't find that exciting enough, you can always go a bit further down the road to the World famous award winning Water World, Water Park where there are rides and water activities to suit all ages.
