Paralimni

About Paralimni Since the Turkish invasion, Paralimni now houses a lot of the Famagusta Refugees and is presently the main administrative district for most of the surrounding villages.

Originally classed as a village and the term still existing for many persons, Paralimni is now more a town with an ever- growing culture and shops to facilitate the ever expanding needs of the locals, from the many and varied beautiful shops and boutiques offering very modern clothes and Jewellery to the hardest pleasing fashion trendsetter.

Paralimni has some fascinating churches with the oldest dating back to the 13th Century. This particular church has now been made into a museum, which houses a selection of ancient icons and artifacts and is located in the town centre flanked by the large Saint George Church which is used regularly for service almost daily.

There are many cafés with some being of ultra-modern design, where you can sit outside and watch the world pass by. Or alternatively if you want something more entertaining, you can attend some shows at the amphitheatre in the centre of Paralimni.

Paralimni is a five minute drive to the nearest beach, where you can enjoy an idyllic day out in the wonderful Mediterranean Sea lapping up the glorious sunshine.
